Maybe 2036. The company’s best move at this point is to make pilots so miserable that they can’t take it anymore and leave for other airlines and give up their retention bonuses. They should allow that retention bonus to accumulate for several more years and then close down bases that have accumulated the most bonus money.

That sounds like a very bad Monopoly game!

Per latest forecast from the company no hiring expected in 2025.

crazy that there’s no hiring yet we are parking brand new planes fresh off the line later this year (heard three 737s going straight to storage).

yet we are to believe the bs from management on the earnings call that all is well? Even the union’s latest says G4 crushing it in profits.

If that’s true, then why are we not hiring and sending planes straight to storage? Somebody help make sense of this

I had heard (from a few people that were at training in vegas this month) that they are not placing new 737 into the schedule now until they are on property and if they have to sit for a few months tell enough pilots are trained to fly them so be it. They are doing this because of Boeing being unreliable as to when and if a plane will come. Also hearing they are looking at selling some of the AB because the used market is so good they can make money on some. Sounded like we might be looking at 1 for 1 replacement at best for next year may even sell more AB then we take on 737's. I guess the new move is to shrink the fleet to push up utilization vs push up utilization on the fleet. They were also told that we are overstaffed and the company is hoping some more pilots would leave especially visa pilots.

Give people their retention bonuses and their wish will come true.

I thought allegiant had a surplus of trained 737 pilots, something like 100 plus pilots already typed and trained just waiting for more aircraft.

That was when there were no airplanes on property. When you have 10 airplanes with 100 pilots, of which 10-15 are in the training center, you end up short staffed.

I also got hired back in November, last update I got was no new hire classes at all during 2025 (most likely).

If I’m understanding you all correctly, there’s not enough 737s to justify the current number of 737 pilots, so the company will sit on new deliveries (confirmed with flight aware that 820NV and 819NV both arrived to GYR boneyard this past week) until there are enough 737 ready to enter service to justify adding more pilots to the pool in groups?

or are we all cooked because the company hired more pilots than are justified?

is 10 pilots per airplane in the fleet really all it takes?

what ive heard is theyre producing 737 faster than expected and allegiant would rather take more planes on PRIOR to august so they wont be as bad off once the deliveries slow down due to the secondary barrier rule effecting production.
