Ace, you are making a wise choice. G4 certainly does not value training as a cornerstone. That’s just not us talking. Our training department was shut down last winter by the FAA, because the old poi was sent to pasture finally, and the new sheriffs in town were not looking the other way; anymore.

Unfortunately they are taking it out on the pilots, because the problems at g4 are so ingrained, they would have to shut down the whole airline. So, they’re showing due diligence by sacrificing the pilots. You seem like a conscientious professional who takes pride in their work. You would be dismissed and told to shut your mouth, if you came here and did something so radical. Like suggesting, adding more value to training.

So what's the washout rate looking like now? How much was the program shortened? Does it matter what airframe you're on?

Why subservice for PIE? They have a ton of FO sitting around.

Because there is more flying than there are planes and crews.

I'd guess there aren't enough Captains sitting around considering all the problems your training department has had.

P.S. Heard that LAS had to go into flow control a couple days ago due to one of your jets returning due to an inflight engine fire. How many does that make? 35 in the last two years? Yikes!

Heard you need to get a life and worry about the company that you fly for.

But he's just stating the obvious?? It's not like he's making things up or anything...it probably has been 35 engine catastrophes in the past 2 years.

The truth hurts sometimes.

:)

Considering the number of engine shutdowns in the last couple years it makes me wonder where the FAA has been. I'd say someone needs to wake up your POI/PMI.

You're just soar because you hitched your star to the wrong wagon - I mean wagon to the wrong star. Don't take it out on others. This forum is about the free flow of information.

I couldn't agree with you more.
