All you can do is check as many boxes and wait/hope for the phone to ring (email for the video interview). Is there a DPE box? If not I don’t think it’ll make a difference. Letters of recommendation are considered after the interview.

Thanks for the info!

That used to be the case, but they've sent out a few emails saying that LOR's were part of the selection process. With that said, I'd bet that they are just saying that to placate the pilots, and that they don't look at them until late in the process, pure guess though...

I flew with one of the pilot interviewers. He said he never saw a letter of rec and his guess was that they are used for points in the algorithm to get a call/might be looked at at the final review level.

Anyone know how long it takes for an internal recommendation to show up on your Pilot Credentials portal? My LOR was apparently submitted by an AA FO a couple of days ago. It says that all letters are reviewed before being approved, anyone have a timeline on this?

Where exactly are the recs supposed to show up? I should have a couple on there (it's been a month since they were submitted) but am not seeing them anywhere. Under the references section I only see folks that I have manually entered, and in the attachments section there is nothing but my resume. Thanks!

References tab, bottom of the page, there is a section for recommendations. They show up there.

Thanks. Yeah, nowhere on that page for me is the word “recommendation.” Must just be because none have gotten attached. At least I know I’m not just blind and can go poke some people about it. Thanks again.

LOR are used when the hiring board gets together to review the interview results.

Not true. LOR of recommendation will show up instantly. Did your AA body put his AA info when submitting the LOR? If he did you should see his name in the referral sections.

I imagine so. They both just asked for the email address associated with my pilotcreds acct, and I know it wasn’t their first time doing it for someone.

Does your application have to be published in order for a LOR to attach to it? I have a LOR from someone I flew with but I don’t see his name where it should be listed. My app is in draft mode right now.
