True story while taxiing out. Lead calls us, CA takes the call (I listen as well by selecting the cabin).
"Hey, I have a guest not listening to our instructions and he won't stop. He won't comply, can we go back to the gate?"
"Um, what exactly happened?"
"He wants to go the bathroom and says he can't hold it, but I told him no we are on an active taxiway about to takeoff."
"Ok, how about let him go, but call us back as soon as he's out?"
with a hint of annoyance in his voice, he says just: "Fine."

Bin Diesel: "You guys going to back me up, right?"
CA Mold Breaker: "Uh..no, sorry. You're obviously on some kind of over- inflated power trip. Didn't you get the deflate context of my briefing? Lucky that guy didn't knock you flat."

old AMR would have been looking for any reason to fire a member of the cockpit crew. The little guy FA is lucky he didn't get his a$$ whipped. The CA looked like a joke. Mr Helper was just sticking up for a lady with 2 babies-any jury would agree.
I'm going out on a limb here but------ The company actually handled the whole fiasco pretty well.
Meanwhile----the United guy that got beat up made out like a fkn BANDIT today!
that's my $.02

Out on a limb eh? Well, I'm certain Doug for one appreciates that rousing vote of confidence.
Both events occurred in the cabin during boarding, went viral and found the same ambulance chaser. Otherwise, completely dissimilar. And what exactly is AA's message to front line workers here? If it's me, Don’t DO Anything. At the first sign of procedural conflict or interruption; observe, report and wait. Maybe the crew won't duty out before negotiators reach settlement terms any digital jury will buy off on.
Incidentally , the CA in this reality drama, from what little we can actually see, got it right for my two pennies.

We don't know who he called or what he said. He almost certainly spoke with someone LNL76. Unlike the ORD carryout incident, nothing really happened but for the emotional meltdowns. Oh, and the scapegoating of a single FA for it's aftermath.
