Pay raise announced
Nice to hear but...Too bad section 6 won't be on the table.
|
One way to get ALPA would be for APA to turn these down lol.

Please don't give them any ideas!
|
I just saw that quarterly earnings are to be announced tomorrow.
|
PHL town hall call on right now. Who wants to bet most of the comments and questions will be about the +8%. $$$ have been waved in front of pilots. All situational awareness wrt to other problems is now lost.
These guys will be like a puppy crossing a busy street during rush hour. |
Just said on the town hall it's a no strings attached 8% raise starting May 2.
Still working on a mid-contract LTD, LOS, and min day pay adjustment. |
Well that caught y'all up to industry standard pretty darn quick! Congrats.
How did you guys manage to get profit sharing and an 8% raise for nothing? |
It's not section 6.
+++++ As much as we wish it was, it's not. This is still the post BK, 6 year deal APA signed. Openers are coming up. We need to REALLLY be prepared for that. +++++ Look around (on this web-site !). It's essentially DL hourly rates. Not B6. Not Spirit. The hell Ex-pats are living ....is not here. |
Credit
Let's give credit where credit is due. Thank you Slice and all your
comrades in the float campaign. |
Info direct from APA President on PHL call this evening said that 'min calendar day' talks are finalizing. This is a good thing. Finally.
AND, he THANKED everyone for their support during the no float campaign. Read in-between the lines, it worked, and created leverage. This wouldn't have happened without pressure from APA. Parker doesn't just do these things out of the goodness of his heart. |

Good god. That sounds awful. |
PBS...the flip side.
All i could hold before were S. America all-nighters. This month with PBS, two ICNs, one PEK and a CDG. PBS built has more/better lines. The seniority of guys I'm flying with is getting more junior these days. Things are moving. |

I can't imagine them instituting calendar day for May... bids are out and it would create all kinds of legality/IMAX issues. Plus, the programming could take years [emoji6]

|

I still believe the Company is bypassing the union and instigating reforms outside the contract but only with both APA and outside input as what they decide. Here is the Piedmont Airlines Cadet program and the drive for pilots is shaking out: Piedmont Airlines Pilot Careers. But I would say what comes out of todays financial report MAY certainly reveal what is the impetus for the Company's pay increases for Pilots AND Flight Attendants, but not so much because of union negotiations. The Flight Attendants just lost an arbitration to the company on this very issue and now a change of heart? Market realities and supply and demand are more the driver and NOT the power and strength of the unions. |

While I was surprised at the pay increase offer, I am not inclined to believe the influence was as great from the APA nor the "no float" campaign. But speaking to many in the industry, especially the training at Piedmont and others, the pilot shortage is becoming acute, even for American. The need to map pathways to pilot futures seem to be the focus here and American has to compete for pilots right along with Delta, United and SWA. So the issues of industry pay are now taking a forefront look by all the companies in the industry. I think the realities of supply and demand are more in what the company is leaning to and to a lesser extent, though still somewhat a form of feedback, is what the APA has to say.

Either mgmt is preparing for their own looting announcement, or Scot Kirby really was the henchmen. |

As long as they're not parking airplanes and the block hours stay up then it's a wash. |

First, they usually pay at least 20:40, so a normal 4 day pay vs 2 day pay for a 3 day red eye. Second, you get up early on day 3, get to the hotel, walk around or work out, have lunch and you're tired enough from getting up early to get a good nap (6 hours for me on my last one). |

They will probably just embed them in 4 days. Doubtful they will be senior.
Guys thinking they will fly the Bus to HNL out of LAX making 15+ on a two leg sequence are delusional. |
