Hey Guys, DL guy here new to Charlotte. Just wondering if anyone knows a good AME in the Area? I've heard Jimmie Adcock, just wanted to see if anyone else has any input. TIA!

 

Dr Thomas Gross, up in Mooresville. He's a pilot, owns a Bonanza, and "gets it." I've got a SI and he's been nothing but hugely helpful.

 

I've been going to Adcock for 4 years, highly recommend.

Dr. Kane is also another popular one, he's on the south side.

 

Agree. I have a SI also, great to work with.

sorry to re-bump this thread. Went to Gross last year and he was truly great. He's out of office indefinitely. Anyone have any insights to Loren Kane vs Jimmie Adcock. Thanks again for the advice!

 

I live in south charlotte and go to Loren Kane, I have been going to him since i moved to CLT 4 years ago. Never had an problems with him, easy going...I sub 40 and in good health though so I haven't had any issues to ever deal with(knock on wood).

 

I use Jimmie Adcock. Great guy and usually has openings. Bring your bullet proof vest with you since he’s located in the Epicenter uptown Charlotte. Might have to do the old duck and cover from your car to the office door.

I've been out on medical for 3 years, prior to that I used Dr. Al Hudson. His nurse Angela is married to an American Captain and has been my FAA Physical Nurse for the past 30 years. She was with Dr. Long who did physicals out of his house until his mid-80's, then Dr. Hudson took over. Dr. Hudson is very laid back and easy going. I don't know if he's accepting new patients or not.

Dr. Hudson is an Internal Medicine Doc with the Charlotte Medical Clinic. They relocated to a medical building near Southpark Mall so not a long drive from South CLT. Their old direct number for FAA Physicals is: 704-446-2359; not sure if that's still a good number since the move. He normally runs the FAA Physicals separate from his regular practice so it's best to call that number to reach Angela and schedule an appointment.
