You may be right. They may choose a different airline. But pull up connection lists for those flights now...most everyone connects to the Midwest, West, or Mexico. Maybe they found more connections from the basin DFW serves (and less options for those pax to book elsewhere therefore higher fares) despite being out of Philly, I really don't know without looking up those loads from last year which I don't believe is possible.
