Default Training schedule

Just got a CJO, and I’m wondering what I can expect the training schedule to be. Is it all instructor-led training or does AA use CBTs? How much time off do you get for CBTs? I also hear you can bring a guest for the first week?

Thanks for any info.

Instructor led, but you'll get at the very least, 1 week off to do CBT's (unless you're on the 190. The 190 doesn't have cbt's). Yes, you may bring a guest during the 1st week of indoc. You'll likely fly in on Mon, start on a Tue, and fly your guest in on Wed. The amount of time off for CBT's varies. You may get a week and a half off, you may get a month off. Depends on what you bid. You'll bid equip and base, along with a start date. If you need more time off for CBT's, try and bid a later class start date. That start date is also associated with a projected finish date, which us what determines your pay Anniversary, so you may not want to wait too long.

And Congratulations!!!

The pilot on-boarding team does a great job. They will reach out to you with all the details and set up flights for you and your spouse. Most everybody will have a spouse/guest. I would highly recommend that if you have somebody, you bring them. My wife missed work to be there and it was worth it. Indoc lasts 2.5 weeks and is very low threat. You will get to go home on weekends.

Congratulations!

I was just about to go search for this topic. Thanks all, good intel here.
Regarding pay and hotel, is there a flat training pay or is it the Monthly guarantee? How is the hotel? Is it near by shopping centers and restaurants etc.??
thanks again.

Pay is based of MALV (mean average line value), long story short it's what the average line holder in your bid status gets paid. If you start after the first of the month its prorated.

The hotel recently switched and is currently the Hyatt Regency at the airport. Far away from shopping or restaurants but there is a $5 shuttle to stops in Grapevine. You do get an employee discount at the hotel restaurant. If you are married and bring your spouse they run a shuttle on the first day to shopping while you are in class.

That’s great. And is PerDiem a continuous rolling 24hour or 8hours a day or something to that effect?

24 hours but I'm unsure if it includes weekends since we dont have any events over the weekend (you are free to travel non-rev wherever).
