At B- the credit is 6 notches into "junk" territory.

yup! we just announced that we will be flying 55% of our domestic capacity compared to a year ago for July. Thats up from 20% for May and 25% for June when compared to 2019 numbers. Things are looking slightly better, hope the trend continues. Hell they may even have to pull some people off LOAs early if this continues

I’m diving into this a little more. They’re claiming to have had 110k average daily passengers for the last week of May. If you compare that to the TSA totals I’d say that’s about 30% of the whole industry. Are we finally kicking Delta’s a**?

Also, TSA numbers don't correlate directly to passengers, as TSA screens passengers once while a passenger making a connection on AA would be counted twice.

from what I hear Delta is running a lot of 3 leg itineraries for paxs so they could be counted THREE times...works both ways.

40% of AA flights have connections. Daily Passenger count for departures of 150,000 then reduced by 40% yields 90,000 tickets sold assuming all connections are two legs.
Additionally, 55% domestic for July is an apples to oranges comparison when the given number for May and June is a system wide percentage. International has to be at least 20-50% of our business. 55% domestic doesn’t sound so impressive when you factor in our international is probably around 5% to 10% putting our total month over month at around 30%.

probably, around, close to, about, etc you get the point Nancy. 10% is pretty close when doing a rough guess without running the numbers. Haven’t been on jetnet today but just found a Reuter’s article quoting 40% for July. Reuter’s being far more factual than the opinion based crap articles from other outlets people are constantly posting on here and the line all the time.
