They are rotating aircraft into and out of storage. An aircraft only needs to fly one day a month in service for it to be counted towards scope, so they can pull one out and put one in each day a day if they wanted and it would count as 30 airplanes towards scope.

Actually here at Republic there have been several company communications that all our contracted aircraft will be flying for AA in July (United too for that matter; DL is another story). However we’ve also been told that the flying will be horribly inefficient as all AA birds will only be flying about 2 legs a day.

Yes it’s a 3 month look back, but the aircraft only needs to fly one revenue flight in a month to count for that month.

” Section b.(1) for three months from the date such aircraft go out of operation, or such longer period as necessary, not to exceed fifteen months....”

United:
United cut its schedule in May by 90%. This month only 3,000 of 25,000 flight attendants are working. Once its CARES Act bailout runs out in September, massive job cuts are expected.
Yet over the last month the company’s stock is up 100%.

Personally, I'd take that as an official source, since it's also published with our timetables.

Just to clarify on the Republic comment, it may have been relayed by a Republic CA, but it comes straight from our July Market Planning documents. All of our AA birds are in service, albeit at drastically reduced utilization.

I see that 141 are coming out of storage, all 737 and airbus. Meanwhile the overwhelming 777 fleet is gathering dust. All of our birds are definitely not in service if you check further. Some cargo but not much else. July 777 flying NY one LHR trip twice weekly...not quite enough for two lines of flying for the whole base. About 100 captains in that status. I sincerely hope 98 of them don't take your comments to heart.
They are not true.
