This is what my base rep said of the VEOP debacle.
"So, when they wanted to go back after we signed the deal and prorate the entire payout for anyone getting a VEOP we told them we’d consider it as long as they guaranteed a 1:1 furlough mitigation for any VEOP awarded. They refused to do that and said we won’t award any instead. Basically, after the signed the deal, they decided they didn’t like what they had signed. They came back with a crappier offer for the VEOP and we said “if you want a to offer a crappier than deal than what you agreed to, ensure that furloughs are mitigated with these VEOP award.” The answer was no."

Serious question though. What's the thinking behind pushing / keeping ALV high by APA? Does this help senior folks in a unique way? I don't get the logic there. Lower ALV is a potentially important quality of life improvement during stressful times, adds pilots on property in good times, keeps pilots on property in bad times. Why not drop ALV, then as soon as everyone is back on property have it bump up again?

Huh!?? I thought the contract that was agreed allowed the company to not accept VEOPS... They obviously also gave union heads up that the VEOPs were probably not going to work out for them. How is this something they get sued over? Def silly to spend time on it, but the number of changes (supposedly this thing was supposed to be over by now) in this covid thing have been high everywhere, including politically.
