Mostly through a merger like what happened here at AAA/USAIR/AWA. However, being a CKA was, in the older days, a way for junior "worthy" pilots to become a CKA and cherry pick trips for training with senior pay. However, a lot has changed since those days hence the shortage. Just spoke with senior (to me) MIA Captain hired after I was, he pulled in $140,000 in November. He told me and I'm taking his word for it. APA superiority at its finest.
man I have to call bs on this….at the top CA rate on the 777/787 of about $359 that’s darn near 336hrs of credit….$359 x 336hrs=$120,750 x 1.16= $140,070….if guys say $*** like this, I go show me your Hi1 then….even if he was imax-ed and flew 120hrs of all premium trips that still only 180 of credit…another even more aggressive look is he get 20 1-1(10.5)2days at PM by doing some same day stuff…that still short at 315hrs of credit…

He said it was the way he was dropping all his trips and flying premium only. I’m just saying that is what he told me. I was deadheading and I wasn’t quite next to him. While the number may seem high and you could be right in the BS call, I DO know there are senior guys pulling in some serious jingle doing the same thing. Not trying to stir up $h!T just parroting his stuff.
