Probably doesn’t help you in the near term, but you might want to investigate earning status with a hotel chain - Hilton Marriott hyatt IHG whatever floats your boat if you use a lot of hotels to commute
i usually use hotel points to get an average hotel rate to $50 each time I commute in to or out of DFW.
that way I’m not spending $50 or crew rate for a motel 6 or red roof, instead getting into a doubletree or embassy suites for the same price.
another option is to use AAs corporate website to get AA negotiated corporate rates that are usually cheaper than the published rate not just in DFW but anywhere where AA has a corporate rate.

Hotwire will get you a 4 star airport hotel for $80 to $120 out the door. If you are sitting short call, that can get expensive, because you might not fly much…even if you want to. The Red Roof Inn is $45 out the door. The rooms are clean and staff are nice and it seems safe enough, but it is thread bare. I wouldn’t bring my family there. There are a lot of people living there full time, but they’ve been nice to me. The real selling point is they have a 1600 check out, which is awesome for Short Call. I do have a car down there, for what that’s worth. You can walk to 7-11, the Westin, or there is an Indian restaurant in the Days Inn.
The Atrium is $77 out the door, but the new wing is nice if you can get it, and you might run into old friends there.
