Are you thinking of coming to AA?

This isn’t entirely correct. They implemented the old AMR profit sharing plan a few years back. And they have agreed to newer better formulas both in their past contract offer during the start of Covid and have publicly stated in crew news to offer “delta like” profit sharing. Which wouldn’t pay as much here as we haven’t made the same amount of profits.

That’s probably why we trail the industry so much. People with that attitude have been in charge at APA for too long.

I am at a legacy, I'm just not on here talking about how terrible it is like others are. What good does *****ing on a forum do? What changes does it make? How does it help get a better contract. Please, enlighten me.

What are you doing to better AA? How long have you been here? Are you part of the union? If so how are you improving things? If not, why not? Content with letting ****bags run the union without doing anything about it? Hey, how about we let union members ditch contract negotiations in order to pick up premium time instead of doing their union jobs when they're needed. Those are the people that make AA trail the competition. Point the finger at me for poking a little fun at the absurdity of the OPs stupid post that he hasn't already said several times before. If he's so unhappy, do something to fix it or S**U or leave.

what?! We have no profit sharing at AAL. It was traded for a few more cents per diem or something similarly asinine. They have not offered “Delta like” profit sharing. The devil is always in the details with AA management. The offer would result in you getting a fraction of the profit sharing that your counterpart at Delta would get for the same quarterly profit.

Recovery obligation. When a trip cancels we are on call for the footprint of the trip. Delta has a 4 hour window where if they are not reassigned in that period they go home with no further obligation. We have to check for additional flying added to our schedules at 3pm every day of the footprint of original trip. Negotiations have shown some improvement to this item. Time will tell.
.
ORRRRRRRRRRR it’s footprint plus THIRTY HOURS for international.
One of the worst sections we have and the improvements the NC are looking for are marginal at best.

The majority of the pilots I fly with still want to bend over backwards to help the company for some reason.

I wouldn't pick AA over any other legacy. Be warned. I have 4.5yrs seniority and at my age I am locked in. All legacy jobs are great and AA is no exception but our contract sucks, our management sucks, and you all should go elsewhere if you can. Anyone with less than 2 years on property should leave if able to one of the other Big 6 airlines.
With the positive space provisions over at delta you should go there before AA. They have profit sharing also.
With the number of Wide Bodies and their better pilot contract you should go to UAL before AA. They have profit sharing also.
With the awesome pensions UPS/Fedex have you should go there over AA.
Seniority means nothing if at a lesser carrier.
Additionally, with the pending demise of Regional staffing I am wondering how AA will even make it without shrinking in the near future.

Between my military and regional days I learned quite well the more you go above and beyond the more regularly they expect you to continue to do so without anything in return. Then if you say no suddenly you're the jerk and not a team player. Can't fall for that BS. I've written into Chip with some very direct questions as to what the company is doing about X, Y and Z and was surprised he actually responded on PTT. Have asked the union a few questions as well. Not saying I'm on top of things in any way, just don't care for keyboard complainers like the OP comes off as. This place sucks, don't come here - but I'm staying... maybe I have him wrong, but maybe not.
