Congrats to both of you for the interview and CJO's at the NGPA conference. Did you have the "admin interview" before attending NGPA? Was the interview at NGPA a "surprise" or did you already know it was in the works.

Congrats again

I did the Admin portion & technical interview right there. Was instructed to wait in the hallway with several others then received the “CJO” within :10 min or so. Actually it was an invitation card to a reception later in the day but knew what it actually was.

I did not know I would get selected but I was told at MTC in SLC that “ I really needed to attend an event”. NGPA was the first one, so of course I immediately signed up to attend.

Did you do a Meet & Greet with us at NGPA or WAI this month?
Wondering what’s next? wonder NO MORE!

After a Meet & Greet with one of our Pilots, your application will get ‘credit’ within our system so we can make note of your presence at each event. We will also add any notes, comments, and/or compliments that our pilot wrote about you during this Meet & Greet, always make the best use of your time with them…every second counts!

Once the event is all done, our recruiting team holds a "Post Event Panel" where EVERY SINGLE APPLICATION will get looked at!

What to do next? UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! 🚨 🚨

During the weeks that follow each industry event or AA-hosted Meet the Chiefs event, your application in Pilot Credentials gets reviewed by our recruiting panel to advance competitive applicants towards interview!

If you didn’t have an application with American Airlines prior to an event - make sure you get that started immediately so that we can give you credit for attending the event, but also for that opportunity to interview with us!

🛑 What happens if you do not hear back? That's OKAY too! Sometimes we have pilots that visit us multiple times before getting their application picked up! Don’t lose hope, continue flying and stay in touch with us. Keep your app looking sharp and updated because YOU could be next!

Looks like the key is to attend these events, went to NGPA 2023, recruiter told me to keep doing the same. Hopefully I'll get the invite for the Houston MTC this month.

How long is indoc? And what is the total footprint of the training? I'm already typed in the A320, would I still need to complete an oral?

Indoc is about 2.5 weeks but broken up. Start on Wednesday, go home for the weekend. Monday to Friday, then home again for the weekend and few days after that. 320 training is about 3.5 weeks. There is no Oral it’s a 100 multiple choice question test. And yes you’ll run through the course and take the written test as if you weren’t typed. Will just be much easier for you. Test is easy you get 80% of the questions to practice online kinda like Sheppard air. You get 2 hours I believe to complete it and all open book. I finished my test in 15 minutes with 96% score. I wouldn’t sweat it.
