Default Ed bashes ALPA during Town Hall

Ed starts town hall by complaining about doing union president work on his vacation. He then takes multiple shots at ALPA for the next 60mins. I guess the fact that Dal, Alaska, JetBlue, Spirit and Hawaiian all have new contracts didn’t seem to cross his mind. Congratulations to us and Ed for we are now the worst paid pilots in the industry(by a landslide). That includes our wholly owns. Complete display of tone death.

Yes. And have you SEEN those new contracts that ALPA got for Alaska, JetBlue, Spirit, Hawaiian, (and I’ll throw in Frontier)? Less than impressive work by the globes foremost pilot labor union.

Yes, the Delta deal has raised the bar. But ALPA certainly didn’t impress anyone with those other contracts that they less-than-skillfully negotiated,…. and signed-off on.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not impressed with APA. But ALPA hasn’t wowed me either, lately.

Unions are only as strong as their membership and the leadership that they choose to represent them.

That is the reason to keep pressuring your reps if you are unhappy about something. Remember you can ALWAYS play the same game. Garbage in = Garbage out.

Delta’s MEC has done better than most. ALPA national isn’t what matters. ALPA is just the framework.

Motivated, unified, involved pilots set the goals for the MEC, which then directs negotiations. Negotiations good or bad, reflect on the MEC, reps, and ultimately membership.

I question if you’ve SEEN the contract comparison. Alaska and Spirit are way ahead of us with QOL/Workrules. I’ll give you a tie for Frontier and Hawaiian..maybe. Your APA arrogance/ignorance is strong.

You can’t be unified or motivated and hold reps responsible if there’s no way to recall a them. The APA gravy keeps a rolling all night long.

BOD premium party boys? …how much did Shaman make last night as a negotiator?

Also, if you think you can do better, volunteer and run.
