RAS changes?

The good news is we’ll most likely get a contract before it’s implemented. Whether the “reserve improvements” mentioned in the Global Framework just released include undoing/preventing the bad parts of RAS or not… we’ll see. Send Sound Offs.

It’s overall not good. In addition to 15.J, read through the Compass Project Reserve Guide, and read between the lines on the stuff that says “when implemented” or “not implemented yet”.

I’m ready for that.
What’s something bad?

while OG GTD sounds great, it's more than likely crew schedules will use the OG option even less than they do now. They won't want to burn reserve GTD credit on OG flying. The most likely outcome will be that they more often award premium trips to line holders, instead of using reserve pilots who request OG.
Something bad about RAS is how it severely limits proffering abilities for reserve pilots, which many of our reserve pilots on LC like a lot and use to their advantage. Seniority will mean practically nothing, and you will fly more on your last day of reserve too, since that is how the new RAS system
assigns trips(based on work days remaining).
Once RAS is implemented, there will be far less reasons to bid reserve. It will trend much more junior. Considering how high the reserve levels are across all the American Airlines fleets and bases, the crap that is RAS will be the suffering of over 30% of our pilots. Should be fun. I will stop bidding reserve once RAS arrives I know that. Looking forward to the re-assignment circus!

The Union, much less the company, has put out nothing in terms of RAS dates/timeline. I fully agree, from the little I know, it sounds like poo. Where are you seeing/getting any info on this? I truly am interested as I am one of the said LC proffer bubbas who digs the current setup.

Many of them are still on there posting frequently, never admitting to any of their long list of embarrassments, but occasionally blaming US/AWA for all our current problems.
