Default Contract 2023

We are not at the 1 yard line, we aren’t even in the red zone. Don’t come to AA expecting to get Delta pay and QOL. The company is not offering a contract that matches Delta, only one that matches Delta pay rates (not even as they are offering 13% less for A321NEO rates). I should’ve left for Delta years ago when I had the chance. At this rate it might be another 18 months of negotiating with the help of the NMB to get something done. I’m a no vote already from what I’ve seen.

Not Delta pay but you made $332k total income as a 2/3 year FO, living in base. But you’d rather be at Delta? Interesting 🤨

What does that have to do with anything? Everyone is making good money right now. Doesn't mean you can't desire a better contract.

I 100% agree with the desire to get better work rules and all that. I specifically replied to his “I should’ve gone to Delta” comment.

I don't blame the sentiment, though. I'm in my 10th year, still enjoy my job, and AA has certainly paid me a crap ton of money over that time. But I currently live in a Delta base and it's hard to imagine that I wouldn't have been better off over that time frame had they hired me. I was just off probation when Delta sent a fix-it e-mail for my medical (I had stopped updating my app), and while that doesn't mean I would have received an interview let alone a job, I still kick myself for blowing off the e-mail.

That I can understand too. But it seems he’s living in base. Anyways, not telling anybody how to feel or what to say, just engaging in some hopefully productive exchanges

I’ve said here multiple times. It’ll be a while until we get something to vote on. Union and company have mostly agreed on Delta’s contract similarity. Whatever else that is different or surpassing Delta, they had and will say no. Whoever thinks otherwise is not reality.

We will go to mediation and will not be coming out winners out of it.

Everybody made good $ in 2022, it was the most understaffed year in aviation history. I would come out ahead 10 years from now if I went to Delta with their better earnings (profit sharing), schedule flexibility, and more competent management and union. APA wasted a year plus on a targeted approach that wasn’t even asking for what Delta got and then decided to start over with a new NC that apparently agrees to concessions in multiple sections. Delta gets rid of their 50 seat RJs while we bring on AWAC again and pay RJ CKA $426/hr. I could go on but you get the point, it’s frustrAAting.

Posts like these are getting really annoying. If you don’t like it so much there’s tons of options on the table to find happiness. Everyone’s situation is different. Nobody is coming to AA right now for the good contract but there’s lots of other reasons to go to AA right now.

One thing to keep in mind is this is APC, and AA has around what 15,000+ pilots? Correct me if I’m wrong. APC mad people must represent like a 1% of the pilots out there and even less AA specific.
I’m all ears when people is willing to state facts and discuss options/alternatives/proposals. And by no means I disregard the experience and frustration of those at AA for years……but it certainly gets old to read things like “worst job in the US”, horrible company, don’t walk away RUN, this place SUCKS, etc…..
Same thing on RST Facebook group.
