how do they get more slots in NYC? JFK T8 has never been this busy since it was built. I don’t think any airline has good profit margins in NY, as the expenses are crazy.

Lobby for them as they come available from competitors….

T8 just became busy again because every One World airline moved over there in the last few months. It's not from AA. BA shut down at T7 after decades of operating out of there.

On a separate note, did AA lease a bunch of slots to JetBlue? Can they get them back if so? Genuinely curious.

Delta seems to do pretty well.

Short answer: Run a reliable operation, make money, pay down debt. That’s it’s.

The oasis configuration aligned us with industry peers, not LCCs. In fact our non-neo a321s still seat less than Delta’s. PTVs, no comment. I’ll leave that for internet Av geek bloggers to discuss.

Long Hual intl network will be rebuilt when the next 30 787s and the 50 XLRs show up. But making money is priory #1. There’s no secret sauce.

This and selling credit cards.

You get 60k bonus miles. It’s enough for two free round trip domestic tickets. All you have to do is complete one purchase to activate the card. For the cost of a pack of gum you can earn your 60k miles.

can not forget the credit cards man

You are mixing things up. Payback of loans wasn't a contingency of not furloughing, it was an contingency of getting the first couple rounds of government free money. Remember, there were a total of 3 (?) rounds of government funding.

AA furloughed after all the government money stopped, and APA refused to reduce obligation hours/pay like UAL and DAL did.[/color]

You are extremely obstinate.

Where in holy bejesus did you think I said Delta didn't take govt cheese money that they were handing out with the only string that there can be no furloughs to pay back?

I got it, you think AA mgmt has it all figured out. Time will tell, like they say in sports....."scoreboard".

Delta has done a great job operationally, profitability wise, etc. Hats off to them. AA until recently had a CEO who was more concerned with taking a stand on voter ID laws, going viral for reading “White Fragility”, and wearing a BLM wrist band. The operation ran like sh*!, and all we heard was “thanks for all you do, everything’s fine”. Parker was great at raising cash and making mergers happen. As far as actually running an airlines, not so much.

Say whatever you want about Isom, but he is lazer focused on the operations side and it’s paying dividends. If things keep trending in this direction we can finally catch up to, or even exceed Delta on profitability. Hey I’m all about it. PS checks and all.
