It isn't a $9.6billion dollar contract. It is a $9.6billion dollar INCREASE over the current contract.

And it is a disaster. It destroys the quality of life of all pilots, especially those new and on reserve. This is the #1 reason not to even consider coming to AA. AA pilots are screwed.

Evidently 73% of AA pilots disagree with your rather pessimistic opinion...

How does it destroy quality of life for new hires? Where should a new hire go?

Actually, more than 1/2 agree. It is just that we know that APA is an utter failure and will not be able to do any better.

The other 1/2 are senior and do not care about the junior pilots. They are selfish SOBs that plan on going out on LTD as quickly as possible and reap the benefits without having to suffer the consequences of this vote.

I’ve turned a little sour on the deal myself but wow is that an exaggeration.

Read the contract. Read 15.N.8 and let us know what it says. It says that the company can completely disregard your PBS award and give you anything that they want, whenever they want. If you bid for commutable trips, they can take them away and make you come in earlier on your first day. Your 3 day trips can become 4 day trips, and your "easy" trips with only 1 or 2 legs per day can be completely disregarded and you will be forced to fly whatever they want.

It is referred to as "retimed". You can be brought in a full day early if they want.

Imagine bidding for a schedule, then the company deletes it and gives you something completely different. Whenever they want. And there is nothing that you can do about it.

Money is good, work rules are the worst in the industry.
