American orders 260 NB planes
American Airlines said Monday that it is ordering 260 new narrow-body jets, including dozens of Boeing’s long-delayed 737 Max 10.
The order includes 85 of Boeing’s 737 Max 10 planes and 85 of the Airbus A321neo, aircraft it says will help it upgauge on domestic and short-haul international routes. The Fort Worth, Texas-based airline is also ordering 90 Embraer E175 planes.
American said it would also convert orders for 30 Boeing 737 Max 8 planes, a model that is already a staple of its fleet, into the larger 737 Max 10s.

MAX-10's?
160 kt ref speeds coming in hot. Gear down flaps 40° on 20 mile final in CLT, taking last exit off runway, there goes your fuel savings.
Looks like the bigger MAXs suffer from the same thing the Airbus suffers from, lack of wing. So they'll also be stuck in the upper 20's / lower 30's.

There’s not a few 70,000+ hour 321’s that will probably need to be put to pasture in the not so distant future.

We are derisking. Not as sexy as UA's mega widebody growth plan, but it's definitely a safer and more reilable strategy.

The good thing is nobody is going to force you to bid the 737. I know I have zero desire to fly a MAX10.
