Note I did say when/if. Not just when.
Why would you advocate for cutting pay for 319/320? |

This is true however as someone who flew S80, A320, and B737 the 737 does far more than what the 80 did.
The 321XLR flying will go uber senior, keep in mind the most junior 75/76 CA was around 6000 on the list, I'd imagine that will be the case to hold that flying as well. 737 crushes an MD-80 or 727. Anyone remember how often we were weight restricted on a MD-80 or 727....flying a 4 hr leg? Or even a 3.5 hr leg. Flying a trans-con? Hahaha. That's not happening. |

The 737 performs better. It's a better airplane than the AB. The Airbus is a better job. Airbus does some wierd stuff but you gotta flip a bunch of switches in the 737 and it's loud. But once you're in your seat there's enough space.

The 737 is a little too "crashy" for me to say that it is better than anything else. It is 1970s technology that has been frankensteined into being as close to an airbus without ever actually achieving its goal.

If the 737 was a better airplane it wouldn't be junior there is a reason it's the butt of so many jokes.
The Airbus cockpit is larger and quieter. If I had to spend years and years on one I'd choose the AB. Time to fly both? I'd fly both. That way you can figure out for yourself if the 737 is worth bidding for better seniority, vacations, holiday bidding, etc. |

Weight restricted flights that are "hub to hub on the East Coast" are weight restricted due to max landing weights, when you have multiple alternates. Happens on both NB fleets.
When they went from 150 pax to 160 pax, without changing the MLW weight, arrival gas went down by 2,000 lbs on a full flight. The newer MLW's and increased seat count keeps the same arrival gas situation we had with the 160 seater. |
