WOW!
Among other damning points;
" AA's secret executive bonuses were uncovered in an embarrassing corporate scandal. After American Airlines had convinced its workers to take huge concessions in 2003, it was revealed that secret bonuses would be issued to executives following the signing of the concessionary agreements. Workers felt duped and leaders throughout the US called for the resignation of AA CEO, Donald Carty. He took a very generous severance package and can be seen often these days enjoying one of his favorite perks, lifetime first class travel on American Airlines.
For years following this scandal, American Executives continued to dole out over $400 million in bonuses to themselves as the airline slipped further and further behind and the employees continued to work under concessionary agreements that offered the company bankruptcy style cuts without actually declaring bankruptcy. Now that AA is using the bankruptcy laws to extract even more from the workers, the employees are fighting back!"

Many of the AA guys I've talked to indicate their latest contract vote-down was in fact a referendum on the management. They felt that had they voted for the contract it would have solidified the sorry management team.
Very good article, thanks for finding it. Amazing that it isn't labors' fault after all.

I usually take editorials like this with a grain of salt. A simple Google search of the author shows that he was a former and disgruntled FA for AA.
Not saying these things didn't happen or anything... I just tend to be a bit skeptical of people's motives.
