AA procedures
So on another board some guys are discussing some procedures that AA uses that seem odd to me and I was wondering if it was just some web board BS.
Fo's can't start engines? Fo's can't make pa's? Fo's can't fly imc approaches? Can this be correct? |
True to a certain extent. AA is still stuck in the 1950s.
All engine starts are CAs (referring to start switches.) FO puts up the fuel levers. PAs- AA is VERY old school. Only PA the FO makes is the gate arrival PA (totally worthless.) even "FAs Prepare for Takeoff" is made by the CA -WHILE TAXIING! Approaches: CA must land the aircraft if visibility is less than 1/4sm or 4000RVR. Please USAir help make some changes! |

CRM: Captain's Right MF!!! |
Wow that makes no sense, let's hope that get's changed asap.
|
XJET is the same. Less than 3/4 or 4000 rvr is considered Low Vis, and a Monitered App must be conducted, resulting the the CA landing.
|
I guess a lot of that will be driven by who ends up running flight ops.
Parker did say that we would mostly use AA systems and procedures because they learned it was easier to have the small group change than the big one. |
Fine with me. I'd rather not do the PA anyway. Looking forward to being FO again..lol

All true, but its 3/4 or 4000RVR. Assume that's just an accidental misstatement.
