New hires late fall, thru summer 2014
From VP Flight's latest email blast:
"To top all of that off, we are firming up plans for new hires. This will be a formal recruitment process, with the first steps taking place online before the applicant moves into the final phases of the recruitment process here at the Flight Academy. At this point in time, the first class is scheduled to start in late fall and then two classes a month at least through the summer of 2014."
Great news and good luck to all prospective new hires... We here are truly looking forward to the first new hire pilots since Sept 2001!

Isn't the wording "up to half" can be filled by AE pilots?
And AE can limit the number to 20 per month?
So 20/month equals 10 AE guys.
30/month equals 15
40/month equals 20
40+ AE can limit the number to 20 or allow more than 20 to transfer.
I'm not sure the language prohibits AA from filling the entire class with AE pilots if AE and AA agree.

flow
Eagle is staffed correctly. Open time in almost all bases/seats is blocked for september as we started returning some of our aircraft to the lease company yesterday. The first few aircraft were ferried to our major maint hubs in ABI and MQT to prep them for return. If you dont believe that look at the 9800-9802 flights for the 26-28th. With 5 aircraft going back every month thru January plus our reduction in block hours as more E175 come online will allow unrestricted flow initially. Remember RJ I said initially. They have also sent some of the academy instructors back to the line which also helps staffing levels. currently in MIA CA EMJ we have 77 hard lines with 44 CA on reserve. Add in PBS early next year which covers the new rest reg staffing and you may see unrestricted flow for quite a few months.

Do any current AAers know if prior employment ( in my case mx) will help get me on if I meet the mins? 3200 total time, 3000 SIC in jets. I attended OBAP job fair and was told it will be helpful. Wanted a like pukes perspective. Thanks in advance.
