AA sick policy

AA sick policy
After reading a recent memo, it is my understanding that:
Step 1: I break my tibia.
Step 2: I go to an orthopedic specialist of my choosing who determines that my tibia is indeed broken.
Step 3: I tell AA that I have a broken tibia and will miss 2-3 months of work.
Step 4: I have to submit my medical records to AA medical department to assess my condition, diagnosis, and prognosis in order to access my LT sick bank.
Are you kidding me? My own doctor isn't up to par with the elite AA medical team? Outside of the scenario I outlined above, it seems that at any given time I may be required to subject myself to an AA medical dept physical?
Is my understanding correct? I hope I am wrong...

On a side note, will the current US Air LTD plan go way after the merger? I seem to remember reading in the MOU that it stayed. Perhaps since it isn't a company sponsored program it was left out of the FOM bulletin

I thought the LTD plan was changing and the $100 a month we are forced to pay on the East was going away.

I think the MOU outlined a 60% LTD benefit until age 65, capped at $8000 per month.
Not sure who is issuing the plan.
Can a current AA guys shed some light on American current LTD coverage?

Yup was wrong, it was the Company Life insurance on East side grandfathered for 5 years.
AA LTD is 60% 8k max, with numerous offsets, is what the comparison chart says. With no premium, so I suppose our 100/month cost goes away.

One of the AA contract sections that becomes effective at POR for US guys is Section 20-Physical Examinations. Is that what you guys are talking about above or do all AA pilots have a physical exam by the company Dr?
