Quote: Both groups have different uniforms. that is the problem
Let's just use Americans.
I also think there are more important things to worry about than uniforms. Pay and days off and how to maximize both at the same time should be the main priority for any airline pilot.

Wearing a hat indoors is not something a gentleman should be doing. If your father didn't teach you that, please google it and start reading. Here's a start for you: Let me google that for you

When was the last time you saw a member of the military wearing their hat indoors? You haven't...(except in certain special situations.)

Now...double breasted, dark blue jackets and hats?? We're going to have bases in Phoenix and Dallas! Let's use some sense here, amigos! Man alive!

Now more importantly...there's a lot of other things we need to get right in this merger. Not the least of which is the non-rev policy. Please! Let's get rid of the Bush League pay-to-non-rev policy (either in First Class or Coach) that both airlines follow. (Of course, US only charges for first, while AA charges for coach (in a lot of situations) and first). Let's bring Delta's policy on over...if there's an open seat (starting in Business class), you get it...no charge.

Absolutely. 50 bucks once a year and pay only taxes International. I did CLE-BKK-CLE with 4 legs in Business and paid 78 bucks. For two.

I haven't been to Annapolis for awhile, but last I knew the Navy wore hats indoors there (they said the Navy wears hats indoors on ships and they treated their buildings like ships.). Who knows.

We didn't wear hats indoors when I was there for 4 years unless we were carrying arms or on watch...(like I said "except in certain special situations.")

And, something else that needs to be changed immediately, if not sooner...Eagle guys having jumpseat priority over US Airways pilots on mainline AA metal. US is giving AA priority over Piedmont and PSA guys. That needs to be reciprocated most ricky-tik.

I think hats add distinction to pilots, but the problem with them is that most guys hate them and so often don't wear them. That defeats the "uniform" part. If I wear one I have to have it on in public because I instantly have bed head when I put one on.

Double breasted jackets don't look too good on those of us height challenged. I'm 5'9" and the only time I tried one on I said "Oh no."

Whatever we end up with I hope the policy is enforced. Our group looks bad. I think some pilots are wearing the first shirts they ever purchased and use the same "I don't have to pack a coat" leather jacket philosophy with their shoes and wear black athletic shoes so they don't have to pack any more!

If I were king I'd get rid of the leather jacket and hang anyone caught wearing Penney's pants and tennis shoes.
