Longest ever flight for an AA 757

Interesting. Wikipedia shows that TXL-EWR is the longest 757 flight operated, but DL does nightly ATL-BSB which shows up about 160 nm farther.

The 757 is very flexible in operation, but that's a rough ride for everybody in terms of passenger comfort. Even 1st class on the 757 is a long way from business class on a 777. 9 hours... yuck.
It's interesting, from the new FAR 117 perspective, that an FAR which is supposed to give us more rest is, in some cases, producing less. Now, AA is scheduling some day flying for two pilots (no relief) in excess of 8 hours.

If you're in coach, it sucks no matter what.
Longest 757 journey for me was about 8.5 hrs: Keflavik to Denver on FI. At least the Icelandic FA's are pretty good looking. And interestingly, both pilots were stunningly attractive tall blonde women. I don't mean hot for a female airline pilot (it's all relative, you know), but hot at Arizona State University hot.

A friend in dispatch told my he thought this was the longest flight duration for an AA 757. MAD-JFK in 9 Hours, 4 Minutes. I didn't think that was even possible.

We have some pretty long/thin routes out of Miami on the 757. Asuncion, Paraguay is the longest... I think that one pushes 9 hours.... followed by La Paz, Brasilia, Salvador and Recife.
I do think jfk-Mad is the longest Europe route we do with the 757.
It's got some long legs, just really uncomfortable for the pax. Wasn't designed as a transatlantic bird!

The wife and I went to Hawaii on vacation last March. PHX-HNL, 100 miles short of LIH, and it was 6+56 takeoff to touchdown. Thankfully, we each had an exit row to ourselves! Winds can be brutal.

Yeah, I had a few of those. Funny how the tailwinds home the next night never matched the headwinds going out. Now I whine when BOS PHX goes over 5 hours. How quickly we forget.

It's been a one stop flight a few times recently fueling in gander. In fact there were multiple UAL 757's diverting one day. They were racing each other to try and be the first fueled. Not sure how the duty day would work out with only a class 3 rest facility after a stop.

I did ANC-Kadena AB once in a 757, just over 9 hours 10 mins...a great airplane that I can't believe 1) isn't still in production and 2) is being replaced on transcons by A321s! 757 can outperform A321 in every area except fuel burn.

However, I'd much rather being doing a transcon in a 321 (front or back) than in the other replacement for the 757, the 737-900!
