Too bad. I actually think the Delta guys project a great image of professionalism. But I don't want double-breasted anything. Well, almost anything.

I agree, 100%. Unfortunately, I think that nostalgic era in aviation is gone. Most people just don't care about that anymore, at least here in the US. I think clean pressed uniform, shined shoes, and a haircut will do just fine. Hats and double breasted jackets in airport food courts, with all the sweat panted and pajama wearing people, -the contrast just looks silly to me.
Just my opinion, I may be wrong:)

The more contrast, the better. We are the only protectors of our "brand," and it's only worth what we demand for it, both in terms of respect, and in terms of compensation.

Besides, there's something to be said for professional pride. Looking the part makes one feel the part, to a degree.

Sadly, most people don't (seem to) care, which is ironic, considering they've likely invested more in their career than their predecessors!

Nothing is stopping anyone from wearing the hat.

A sneak peek of a "wear tester" showing off the new uniform was recently leaked on another forum.....
Word is, the lipstick is optional but the hat is not.

Nice anchor on the hat.

OK, give it to me straight, are HATS going to be mandatory?

All indications from union reps sitting on the jump seat seemed to indicate the hat is going to be mandatory, but no one will say that on the record.

I just want black so I can color match my pants from Wal-mart.
