I agree, 100%. Unfortunately, I think that nostalgic era in aviation is gone. Most people just don't care about that anymore, at least here in the US. I think clean pressed uniform, shined shoes, and a haircut will do just fine. Hats and double breasted jackets in airport food courts, with all the sweat panted and pajama wearing people, -the contrast just looks silly to me.
Just my opinion, I may be wrong:) Besides, there's something to be said for professional pride. Looking the part makes one feel the part, to a degree. Sadly, most people don't (seem to) care, which is ironic, considering they've likely invested more in their career than their predecessors! |
