I don't bother to wear a hat either except every winter I try to start carrying it to keep my head protected from cold rain and snow, but the funny thing is I keep leaving it behind before the first day, of the first trip.
If they make the hat mandatory I might be losing a new one every trip.

The more contrast, the better. We are the only protectors of our "brand," and it's only worth what we demand for it, both in terms of respect, and in terms of compensation.
Besides, there's something to be said for professional pride. Looking the part makes one feel the part, to a degree.
Sadly, most people don't (seem to) care, which is ironic, considering they've likely invested more in their career than their predecessors!

Famous quote(not by me):
"I traded my pension for this nifty leather jacket! Yea!"
I really couldn't care less about the hat, but I hope they make the group wear real grown up shoes. Sick of seeing black athletic shoes.

We don't have MBAs, we have ATPs.
Passengers don't care what management is wearing, they care about the people whose lives are in their hands... US.
