AA and US Airways Schedule questions
#1
How long does it take to be off reserve and hold a schedule for a new hire on the AA side vs the US Airways side if hired into a Group 2 aircraft?
(I am aware the E190 is the shortest of all of them which is group 1)

Wow that's 4 different questions!
S80 DFW has the most domestic variety on reserve and as a line holder. I'm sure you'd find some trips you like. With that said each month the 737 in DFW is growing.
I'm MIA based so can't expand on DFW schedules. DFW 767 flying INT'l has lots of variety.
Hands down the worse thing about AA is our vacation. I've always been relatively junior on all equip i've flown so I've NEVER got holiday of summertime vacation.
I've NEVER got a whole month of vacation. I've never got 3 weeks in a row. Once I got 2 weeks vacation in a row.
You need to be senior on any aircraft to get a good vacation.

I'm on the 80 in DFW, about 60% as a junior line holder. I hope things will get better, as staffing improves.
Over the last year on reserve, I flew pretty much every day, I can count the days in 12 months that I sat a RAP, and didn't get called. Broke guarantee every month, unless I had vacation. I timed out (85 hours) three months last year. Looking at tomorrow, the high time guy on reserve shows 80 hours, and the low time is around 40.
I've been reassigned five out of the last five sequences, usually it's in my favor, but we got reassigned into our day off today. I was on a four day trip, that ended up a five day. My PROJ for may is over 98 hours right now.
It's mostly three and four day trips. On reserve, be prepared to deadhead to cover flying at other bases, and expect a couple of "be here asap" short calls every month.
It's been a while since I've seen a trip with a Canada leg, but Mexico is very common, Mexico City especially.
