It would be funny if they got these and couldn't get anyone to bid captain on them.

I was told that the current Republic 190 airframes were offered to US Airways for repurchase a while back, but the company declined due to the fact they were ragged out and trashed. Supposedly, it would have cost way too much to bring them back up to standards.

I believe the original number on the property was 25. Then 10 were sold to Republic leaving us with 15 for quite a while. 5 were brought back not too long ago and that leaves us at our current 20... I think the 5 brought back came from Republic, but not 100% sure about that...

What really is the issue? They are either airworthy or they're not.

The 190 low pay is really a good thing for new hires. Since pay is 40/hr regardless of whichever equipment you start on, who cares if u fly an e190 for a year? Since most all new hires want off the 190 after their 1 year seatlock is up, this creates alot of movement and you will only be on reserve 3-4 months then hold a line and make more $$$ AND get more days off than other new hires sitting reserve their entire first year on the airbus. Then after the 1 year seat lock is up, u can go to the airbus as a line holder and u never have to fly the 190 again. Or you could bid 190 Capt and make 117/hr your 2nd year.

Yes its sad group 1 pay is really low but there is some silver lining.

Seems like a great way to make that 121 PIC time! Talk about being a direct entry CA.
