"Quick question:
Do those 2012 ASM's include seats on US regional carriers, and not just mainline?
If so, that would explain more ASM's with less mainline airframes."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Poor research/fact checking on my part. 'USAIR' annual report was actually the AWA annual report and not the combined results. It looks like US alone was in the 50 ASM range.
Regional feed is 14-15 ASM per year, year after year, or approx. 20% of mainline's ASM.
Mainline was 82 in 2005, dropped to 70 ASM, back up to 77 ASM last year.

Future of CLT ?
Probably the same as St. Louis. American will dismantle it, and the APA will approach the company to dissolve it and its' protections.
Now, when are the new bag stickers coming out...

Hopefully, somebody from reservations, route planning, and/or resource planning is on here and can answer a couple of questions:
Rumors abound about different aircraft being better "matched" to markets which they currently do not serve (i.e., A330's through MIA to SA; B777 on PHL-TLV, etc.).
When would these decisions have to be made to allow for the changes to be made in time for next year's spring and summer travel season; like training flight crews, maintenance, CSA's, fleet service, etc.?
And how far in advance are the upcoming spring and summer schedules loaded for sale in the rez computers, so that we might have an idea as to which aircraft might be going where next year?
Thanks in advance for any info.
