Thankfully the APA's cool heads are in charge. Looks like some of the know-it-all defeatists on here actually don't know squat. Too bad they don't possess a feedback loop.

You might want to look in the mirror this time which you NEVER do and continue to bring up the treatment of USAPA East pilots yet FAIL to condemn your own.

Let this be a LESSON to the new hires that anything other than LOS will simply divide, conquer and DISSOLVE the labor union movement which has happened here at American.

The day pilots QUIT blaming others and look at the way THEY do business will change happen. Until then I expect the same response from WD and the same BLAME GAME that always happens here.
I will say this one more time and then I am done on the subject. I am man that says exactly what I mean. The bottom line is we had and agreement plain and simple to turn all over to the arbitrator and WHAT EVER he decided that was to be the end of it. No more fuss no more haggling just final and binding arbitration. We all knew going in what it could mean and we were fine with that. The east did not honor its end of the deal and we have to this day a colossal fking mess. We have property that has 2yr capts and 15yr first officer! We have a property with 2yr wide body first officers and 15yr guys and gals that cant bid them.

I have no idea how this new SLI will work and won't even pretend like that I have the first GDam clue. It is a truly a fking mess. Now my only beef is that if you say you are going to do something that you DO IT. I have many times in life where I said I would do something and when the time came I dreaded the day but I still did what I said i would do regardless if the fact that I did not like OR agree with it.

Now I if I have to be insulted for this view then please keep that to yourself.

The last couple days have been refreshing. I don't know the whole story, of course, but it looks like the union leadership has learned a thing or two since LBFO1

Also, I always read your nick as "Flight Olive," and I wonder for a second "*** is a 'flight olive?'"

There are plenty of messes. 2yr guys in a wide body with 15yr guys unable to bid them.... Sounds like a DOH argument to me.

But seriously the whole industry is a mess in many ways. It is what it is. Cheer up, it is sure to get worse.

Well there is finally a reality check from YOU. We did NOT have an "agreement". ALPA promised YOU an arbitration and ALPA gave you one. What you and yours fail to realize is that ALPA misrepresented themselves and ALPA should have been the one you sued for that promise....NOT USAPA. Labor unions (the ENTITY) cannot make you STRIKE. They just can't.

I didn't break "my agreement". I "agree" to honor YOUR seniority (LOS) at AWA with the same seniority (LOS) at US Airways. I will do the same at American ONLY if the American pilots do the same for me, which they are gambling and WON'T because THEY HAVE TO GO TO ARBITRATION TO GET THE JUMP ON US AND TRYING TO VIOLATE THE VERY ESSENCE OF UNIONISM: LENGTH OF SERVICE.

Here is the reality check for labor: LABOR UNIONS only work if every member has UNITY in their PRINCIPLES and the ONLY principle through the history of LABOR UNIONS is the time they spent working for a company (merged or not) WITHOUT strike breakers (who have less time with the company) coming in a doing THEIR jobs because the current employees are asking (RIGHTFULLY SO, I MIGHT ADD) for SAFETY, pay and benefits (in that order) so destroying the basis for FUNDAMENTAL UNION SURVIVAL.

You cannot expect new hire employees to support YOUR seniority if your not willing to support theirs no matter what the companies do.

That about sums it up in a nutshell. I did it with a lot more words.

That sums it up well.... Funny looking back how short sightedness harmed some....

Length of service constitutes seniority?
