Sorry, but I don't think 1.2B is cheap.

And who's fault is that??? I'm just a "low life" pilot here at AAL according to the APA BOD. We're just too stupid to make intelligent decisions.

They are putting it out for a vote and I can read....the proposal speaks for itself. I don't need the analysis from the APA about it, I trust them even less than Parkirby.
Let's see. You were a regional pilot flying mainline aircraft for how many years? Helped keep a union ineffective for a "major" airline for how many years? Shoe fits, wear it. Sorry, I was not going to play because I graduated third grade 68 years ago but the irony was just too good to pass up. Happy new year.

What is the status of Hard Linesvs> Pref bid with this contract proposal? That is a HUGE gain for management if they get it>

If I recall correctly, you wanted to accept the very first offer that even had the scope distraction in it. Now 2 iterations later, you still blame the BOD despite the fact that they stood strong for you and got you some incremental improvements. You havent even acknowledged that. I wish they hadn't sent this out for you to vote on, but now that they have been forced to, you bear the responsibility for whatever binding contract language gets snuck in after you vote yes. Nobody is calling you stupid or attacking your ability to read, but unfortunately, this is opening up a can of worms and taking advantage of the naivety of the group bigtime. Congrats on the 23 percent pay raise. Im not gonna say I told you so since any dissatisfaction you have during the implementation phase of this JCBA will be on the pilots and no fingers can be pointed at the BOD since they gave you the vote you asked for. Instead I will band together with you and focus on bargaining for good work rules in 2019, hopefully next time with the presence of the best labor lawyers and professional negotiators at the table that we can buy. Maybe you will see things through a different lens then as we are locking in an industry lagging contract in work rules until then. I truly believe AA is going to be the leading legacy carrier, and the potential for a better career still exists for this pilot group.
ETA- Be assured APA does have lawyers looking over their shoulder. BUT, you get what you pay for. Only a top ten firm can compete with another top ten. Money talks. Pilots cannot afford and most companies pay a yearly retainer to lock them up anyway (tax deductible business expense). Local firms are just out classed, as demonstrated in years past contract failures. The company wins. Always.

You people really need the help of professionals. Do you seriously think that a contract is not already written? My practice was writing contracts. On a job like this one, we generally had the outline planned and written one year in advance. We got the essentials the company wanted and wrote language that covered dozens of different possibilities. We ALWAYS wrote the contract to favor the company.

Note- I have not read this contract nor have an opinion about how good or bad it is. I would bet ten bucks the loop holes are precisely (and already) written though. Ranch for sale. Just down the road from Arpy's ranch. Mine is bigger. Heart disease is getting me down. And you Aholes said lawyers don't have a heart.

Oh, I have no doubt Parker had all the provisions were written, but he either withheld them for APA for whatever reason or more likely the language that did come through to them on I/D altered what they believed/intended it to mean and are attempting to resolve that while still technically meeting the retro deadline.

Parker would tell the law firm what he wants. They will with hold the product as attorney client privilege so Parker can deny its existence. I know for a fact a firm will research what the members of a union might ask, and write around their ask. Mine did.

I can't wait to see the language. It will be fun to sharpshoot it, not that it will change my vote which is founded on far more then the specifics of a bad trade.

Unionbuster66 is here to do the same thing with pilots on this forum. Hopefully, we'll be a bit smarter here. In fact, I'd advise all affected pilots that very soon, it's quite likely some new........ahem (foot stomping), "pilots" will suddenly show up attempting to convince us why we should accept this bad deal that's been forced on us by the ethically bankrupt. One of the most effective union-busting and pilot dividing tactics is to mix lies with the truth just as the demon did in The Exorcist.

Keep your eyes open and your mind clear !
Yep. You're smarter than me.

No, just more ethical.

Besides, I'm an advocate FOR the pilots not one scheming against them for appeasement of my anger and financial self-benefit. We are truly polar opposites here.

Spare me your heroism. Just another martyr for the cause. David Behneke and Dick Lyons are rolling over in their graves with the likes of you.
