JCBA is passed

Passed 66-34, 94 percent voter turnout

Highest pay rates for the next 11 months until Delta leaves us in the dust. Worst (bk) work rules for the next 5 years.

American Airlines pilots approve new contract, 66%-34% | Dallas Morning News

C17turtle 01-30-2015 07:18 AM

The silent majority has spoken. Now let's hope there won't be any hidden surprises from the company going forward...

NERD 01-30-2015 07:19 AM

The race to the bottom continues:(

bohicagain 01-30-2015 07:29 AM

66%

that's about 8600 pilots that voted for this so called Legacy Contract.
To each their own just don't ***** about pay rates and work rules sucking compared to United/Delta in about 2 years

On the bright side, Glass missed it by 15%.

CEO's industry wide doing virtual fist bumps. Ch11 work rules locked in for 5+ years. Enjoy working 18-20 days per month.

AB YZS 01-30-2015 07:35 AM

Curious what the vote breakdown was by age.

...and isn't that really who decided this path......the "silent majority" ?

In 2020, the silent majority will once again be the deciding factor and those pilots will all be 55+ or older. P, K & G will know JUST how to play us then and since we have nothing to offer for pay raises then but scope and LTD.......well, you can guess the outcome then. :)

The course is now set and there is no more question. Kinda peaceful actually. My condolences to those at the early/mid stages of their tenure here. There is going to be more pain in the future. But......

......for now, it's time to PARTY !!! :D:D

It will be status quo most likely. Maybe slight improvement on the AA side with PBS. We didn't have min calendar day for 10 years so not having it now should change anything. We still have all the same rigs as previous so I'm not buying the Internet hype.

No, there was no change.

According to some real men of genius on here, JCBA was a chance to implement a completely new and different contract than the one everybody voted for 2 years ago. Since nothing really chanced in our work rules, the sky is falling. Since we are operating under essentially the same contract we have been, but with higher pay, everything is clearly going to fall apart.

Actually, things have just gotten quite a bit better for new guys...no more $40/hr new hire pay ($78?), and group II FO's jumping to $112 in year two. Plus at least there's 2 years LOS credit now. With the upward movement we will see in the next few years I don't see things being that bleak for the middle/bottom of the list. But I'm a glass half full kinda guy...

He's in good company. Over 8,000 are THAT naïve. If you hire a realtor, make damn sure s/he was never a pilot. :D

Oh man, I'm just reading the fine print on this thing...500 E-190s on order, parking everything else but the A-321s (since they scored on group II pay), and 25 days on a month for 50 hours of pay! DOOOH, I've been DUPED!!!

Enjoy your raise...and try to relax.

Any idea how soon we get our LOS credit back? I'm assuming that should be retro active back to December as well?

Calm down. You are way overreacting.

Yeehaw! So when do we receive the back pay? Next paycheck?

Scope should always be off the table. The BOD didn't even consider the offer when the company was asking for scope.

That is the point of the BOD in my eyes, to not allow one group to eat others.

What? You don't have a credit card? Go shopping today! Or did you already max out all your cards?

C17turtle 01-30-2015 08:34 AM

LOS credit for retro pay?

pilots at LAA and LUS. a. Credit based on a final spreadsheet from APA which shall include, at a minimum, names, employee numbers, and credit amount. [Agreed 08Dec14] b. Such credit will be applied within 60 days of the Company's receipt of the final spreadsheet. [Agreed 03DEC14] c. Pilots will not receive LOS credit for time on deferred status. [Agreed 08Dec14] d. Furlough-in-stead (FIS) pilots shall receive LOS credit for the time prior to their first offer of recall. [Agreed 08Dec14]

Here's the language from the contract on LOS credit. It seems unclear about "retro" credit pay. Looks like you don't get the credit until the APA spreadsheet is submitted. I hope we get the retro credit for Dec/Jan but am not counting on it!

You would shop for a car on a lease? Now it all makes perfect sense.

Make sure you tell them what you want your monthly payment to be. They can give you a great deal if you tell them the limit on your monthly payment. Pick out any car you want and tell them the limit on your monthly budget. They will have tons of good news for you.

Nope, not the way to buy things. I'm not stupid.

Besides, within a few months, I'll be able to stroke a check for it, no payments except the first one.

Thank you to the 66%!

Just under $5Billion profit and the first contract that comes to them is voted in easily! Had the chance to have the best contract in the industry, best work rules, QOL and highest pay! Oh well....

No R57 he is not clueless. Some of you who have been at Airways a long time are just accustomed to being fu[ked, well stand by, DUI is gonna insert.

Do you actually think he would put his best offer first?

You need to learn something too. I'm sorry, but I've just read some brain dead piece from someone I used to respect and it has me aggravated. The majority of pilots at the new AA decided this was a better deal. Get over it. When the SLI starts you won't hear a word about the contract.

Dude, I am so over it, but you don't have a right to call a guy clueless just because he pointed out that the pilots acted like a homeless guy getting his first meal in a week, with respect to DUI's first offer.

Jesus H Christ man! This isn't a homeless man eating. If you think that, go see a homeless man. I spent a week in Mexico building basic housing for real homeless. Try that and get back to me.

Damn.

Oh quit complaining. You don't have to non-rev to Mexico now. Next time you visit you can pay full fare and help Doug keep things afloat. DUI gave us $2Billion in exchange for $0.1B concessions. He needs the help. We made a killing on him. :D

You are a moron. I can't believe that I once listened to your BS.

We got 10 to 1 for our gives. Be grateful your fellow pilots had more brains than you.
