I can't wait to negotiate the next contract during an inevitable economic downturn. It's gonna happen. Only plus side...we can't concede much more when the company asks for it back.

This is what I was thinking. Whatever letters you call it, your union is made up of the membership. APA, USAPA, ALPA.... Yada, yada... Probably wouldn't change anything.

Not necessarily, it would have given us future leverage and Dougie wanted those concessions very badly. There was nothing preventing him from coming up with another offer. I am not saying I know how it would turn out but apparently, you are so smart, you can predict the future. Good for you.

From: recalled until the next round of right sizing to optimise synergies
Most of the East West battles are funny because at the heart of it they mostly agree, vote yes to whatever the company asks for.
We will get em in 2020!

You know cactiboss has a point, if we were to negotiate 12 months earlier, cacti and guys just like him would be clamoring all over themselves to give the company want they "have to have" at the time. Nearly 100% of the West and 57% of the East would not negotiate themselves out of a paper bag. The company knows this pilot group is a joke, and they treat us as such. you know, implementation schedules, and, the way they always honor the contracts..

Get over yourself and get involved in making things better instead of blaming everyone else for making them worse.

FYI out of the 18 years have been in the 121 world, I have served around 12 years doing union work at various levels. Does that mean I now have permission from you to have an opinion?

You and the other no voting fools just can't accept the facts. The APA idiots put us into a corner with no leverage, sold profit sharing for $12 mil and refused to even look at the superior west contract. They went on to set up "cost neutral" arbitration. Everyone in the industry is damn glad we passed this contract as it moved the bar up substantially for everyone. 2020? I'm not counting on a thing because of the freakin idiots on the board, specifically the east bases, MIA and the "outlaw" wales.
