Their proposal (the LAA committee and not APA) was based on fundementals and if anything IF only one competing model (which includes the Nic) is presented in opposition, that impacts their fundementals differently. I can only wonder if aside from a different feathering methodolgy model is selected (whether further refined or modified) that fences aren't more prevelent. From what I heard, the APA had perhaps 6-10 "models" based on various counter-positions by the other two parties. If only a Nic based competing model is now in play for the arbitrators to consider, it may require a different competing model to ensure the interests of LAA pilots are represented properly.

What is the problem with delaying things a few weeks, getting a new committee and allowing them to get up to speed? The company has said the FOS won't be ready anyway. |

Do you truly believe the arbitrators are going to discard a previous arbitration that was crafted by one of the most respected arbitrators in the nation and now supported by the 9th? What would be their motive? You do realise that the "west" pilots represent roughly 10% of the combined pilot group and US Airways has been a single carrier for years now? |

Maybe it's best to stay engaged and "advocate" the Nic and include a statement of protest and let the arbitrators decide its applicablilty ? As it is, the LAA proposal is STILL almost certain to NOT include the pure Nic. Still haven't heard what Silver is going to specifically say about all this. |

How could it not include the "pure NIC"? Are you saying the arbitrators will re-order the legal seniority list of US Airways? Will they also give the TWA pilots another shot? |
