Those 190 cappys can have it. Most people including myself have absolutely no desire to command that plane. That's why there's 13' hires doing it.

Try late '14 hires.

And yeah, nobody should bid the 190. You won't like it.

What is the general feel about the amount of recall guys that will come back? I would assume many are well established in their flying career for the past decade at XYZ airline, or gave up their airline career all together after 9/11.

Also, what significane does May 2016 have? Deadline for some recalls? Trying to gauge chances for OTS folks this year. Thanks in advance.

My personal guess is 150-200 of the 900 or so return. A lot of the guys on that list are really well established at Delta, FedEx, Southwest, United, UPS, etc. and aren't coming back. There are also a lot that have been trying to get an active duty retirement and will come back.
Everyone who has not returned already passed on 2 years of longevity pay. I don't know how much that equates to, but there is a huge difference between first and third year pay.
May '16 is when they have to make a decision to come back or resign. I think they start at the bottom of the list and work their way up, but I could be wrong.

150 - 250 is a number I hear a lot. Will probably be somewhere in that range. AA is estimating about 3 months worth of training to accommodate them supposedly, which at training 60-70/month (what they have been doing) would be about 180-210 guys. I was just in the training center and a sim instructor told me the same thing. Not that they really know definitively either.

I have spoken with a handful of guys in recent Jumpseat conversations that are not returning. They are Captains at other places now A couple were at Jetblue. I haven't met anyone that is returning, obviously they are out there though.

In all fairness, how many of them were still on probation when they were furloughed.

I get what you are saying though.
