I'm old school, I've written a cover letter for every job I've ever applied to. I also refuse to use a resume longer than 1 page. With the airlines, I didn't submit the letter with my app, but had a custom letter for every airline at the job fairs I attended. I also printed one up to turn in with the rest of my stuff at US Airways. It was not required. The guy I gave it to, read it, and it sparked a conversation for what that's worth. I'm not familiar with AA's hiring though.

Any resume longer than 1 page has always been thrown right in the trash at every place I have been.

Cover letter may be OK. Multiple page resume is definitely not.

you don't even bring your resume to the interview, quit adding needless **** and trying to be the teacher's pet.

Random - last class breakdown I saw had 20 non flows. 16 prior military, four civilian. The civilian breakdown was two from other 121 operators(one regional, one cargo/charter), one Netjets, and one from a small 135 charter operator.

If their regionals paid more folks would stay longer vice leaving to go to other majors. AA isn't a good enough company pay and work rules wise for folks to pass up other companies in order to flow through until a certain point away from the flow so folks will continually leave their WOs when they receive an offer that suits their needs better.

Envoys contractual flow throughs will slow down in terms of % over the long term as wickets are met, and PDTs will increase as manning increases. PSAs may stay the Same for a while or uptick slightly.

Expect to see many flow throughs in AA classes for a while. However Pure civilians do get hired. I have a buddy who is a pure civilian who made it recently. Less than 6 years at a regional, Strong career progression (FO-CA-LCA) and community involvement so it's possible as long as you can get your resume to stand out from the crowd in a positive way.
