Aircraft Bases and type of flying!

Oh and I was the bottom 737I CA in MIA my first 6 months. There were about 10+ Dom CA's jr to me but I was bottom guy. It wasn't that bad.
I was offered premium (150%) every month and one month flew 3 premiums.
In June I had Noon RAPS it was my easiest month so far. 1 leg out spend the night, one leg back. I only had 1 two day trip that was a 1-3 leg deal.
I flew like 75 hours but it was easy.
Now July, I started with an OG 4 day and did lots of 8 leg 3 day trips. I was exhausted.
I was SC all this year.
Even as bottom guy you could get long call. I only bid short call as i'm local.
The 737-800 I flew it on the MOAB #1 for a month and a half. Then they did MOAB #2 or "The Master Reshuffle" Jan 2004 and I was reinstated 767I FO.
This (737-800) was pre winglets and the plane only carried 148 I think at the time.
So instead of landing at 154 ref now back then it was like 142 ref. It was easier to land and wasn't so squirrely with flaps 40 then.
The HUD is a major distraction. Now I flew the same HUD at Horizon Air. The new version not the BAE HUD, we have both at AA.
But I fly the carib and Central Am. And with RNAV and when you do get a ILS there is tons of interference AKA MIA traffic ahead or on ground.
The guidance cue just disappears. Now you're on your own. Yikes!
The last few months I've be "De-cluttering" the HUD and haven't' been crash landing as much.
Autobrakes 2 does nothing on the 737-800. SO your choices are AB3 or jam the breaks on.
I DHD a lot on reserve assignments. I watch the Passengers heads bobbing around on the decel and putting there hands up on the forward seat to keep from smashing there heads into it.
I DHD'd home on one of our AB's 321 last month. Perfect landing perfect gentle deceleration.
Hey Boeing change the 800 wing! You can change the wing, change the engines, but you cannot change the main landing gear. That is why they jacked up the nose on the MAX.

aa73 will make a great CA! He is patient, handsome and has great hair last time I looked on FB.
Too nice...😏
After he gets burnt once or twice and learns where the "no more Mr Nice Guy to hell with CRM somebody round here has got to put their foot down line" is - then he'll be a great Captain
When he figures out how to do that and have people think he's doj g them a favor - and he will - he'll be one of the truly exceptional.
(That's a complement dude...)

I wonder how much "shifting" of equipment we'll see after the SLI. There're rumors of PHX becoming a 73 base, 330s moving to Mia and probably a few others I haven't heard of.
Does AAL still TDY as much as they used to?

Very little. I think the 787 is TDY from DFW to LAX and ORD.
Virtually none in MIA.
It used to be if TDY for 3 months then they have to create a vacancy. TDY was a good deal for most people. I've never done it.

I'll I've heard (and of course this is all rumor) is a 737 base in both PHX and CLT (to replace A320 flying since most of those are going to the boneyard), 737 only in ORD, increase in little Airbus flying out of DFW and MIA, and an increase in 767 flying out of PHL, along with the 330-MIA rumor.
