get your 1000 pic and get out of the regionals ASAP. The longer you stay there the more comfortable you will get. If the choice were to get stuck at a regional or get stuck at an acmi I would much prefer the latter. At least you’ll make a wage worth the cost of training.

Don’t the regionals trap their folks unofficially through flows and hiring agreements? I remember a mainline guy in the jumpseat a few years ago telling us it took him 10 years to flow to mainline… I’m sure there are numerous perspectives on this and yours definitely may work for some. Perhaps one must be careful which regional to pick when deciding to go that route…

Lost decade was primarily two reasons. 9/11 caused a reduced, sustained passenger ridership. Secondly, the FAA raised the mandatory retirement age from 60 to 65, so retirements essentially stopped.
