You sure he wasn't a sim instructor for Southwest?

Nope. He left a Middle East carrier after a few years and came back to the States. Got hired as an FO at Southwest. I think he was there less than a year. He didn't like the multiple legs a day and missed the international flying.

He might have played good card right. Home based. First class seats to work. Possible earth shattering contract on the horizon. I wonder if anyone had left a legacy or declined a cjo at one to fly with Atlas.

Bottom Line: When you think someone is crazy, remember it’s not your life and until the end - only you can determine if your career choices were right for you looking back in hindsight.

coming from a regional not sure when the upgrade will come. interviews coming up w/ atlas & a fractional, hoping to return to 121 in the future if I left, which is the better option? have buddies at atlas saying things may be getting better soon... never been a corporate guy but the pay would be nice to finish the bachelors... any insight/guidance is appreciated...

I would recommend staying at your regional until you hit 1000 TPIC. Otherwise you may trap yourself at Atlas or a fractional.

Don’t the regionals trap their folks unofficially through flows and hiring agreements? I remember a mainline guy in the jumpseat a few years ago telling us it took him 10 years to flow to mainline… I’m sure there are numerous perspectives on this and yours definitely may work for some. Perhaps one must be careful which regional to pick when deciding to go that route…
