What are the schedules like? My current job pays better but the schedule has gotten much worse since COVID and I don't think management will want to change post COVID (assuming that happens this century)?

Do they offer move money if I move to a domicile?

Any unspecified benefits that some of the senior pilots like (easy workload, time off, etc - things not officially benefits)?

Other tidbits of love or hate?

Thanks
You can apply to either, during the interview you will be asked what equipment do you prefer (you can choose any of the 4), they will try to honor that, but might offer you a different equipment, based on your background and company needs.

They do not pay you to move, but you can use the Gateway travel, which means the company will buy you a confirmed ticket for you to get to your base and back home, the downside is that you would have to travel on your day off to your base, however if your trip does not start at your base, which a lot of times it does not, depending on what equipment you are on, then you will travel on day 1.

Schedules are 17 on (extendable to 19) and 13 off, although some equipments have lines with broken duty days, meaning 10 on 7 off, 7 on, 6 off or a combination thereof.

If you use gateway travel, you get a hotel for reserve in base as well as per diem, so no crash pad is requiered.

Current contract negotiations ended with no agreement, moving into arbitration next month with over 32 items not agreed on.

Thanks. I’m going to be living slightly under 2 hours, about 1+50 from the airport. So not that close but within 2 hours. What’s the limit for each reserve type?

Under the current CBA, R3 is 90 minutes to block out. R2 is 90 minutes from the call to report time.

In my opinion, you would need to come to a company provided hotel for R2. For R3, however, if you wanted to you could just drive to the hub / R3 hotel for your 6 hour shift and then drive home.

“Everything is on the table”. - JDs response to a question about M&As with future “small airlines”.

We will be arbitrating not only this CBA, but the next one as well. Just like the last one.

Exactly. The way management operates - there are future Atlas pilots that aren’t even born yet that will never, ever get to vote on a single contract & spend their entire careers here wishing to not have everything end up in forced arbitration/forced amalgamation.

...unless, we, as a country, decide to prioritize PEOPLE over Profits. If we change the paradigm, then workers will get their fair share of their organization's profits, instead of continually getting screwed like we are now.
The 1950s, like many of us want to go back to, had the highest percentage of Union Workers, and the average worker got a salary MUCH more similar to their CEO, than they do now. Since then, the laws, rules and regulations, have been changed to favor PROFITS Over People, and most of us have gotten screwed big time.

Simple answer, vote with your boots, FedEx, UPS, ABX are all hiring with a better pay scale. Harder answer, form an Independent Pilots Association. Teamsters are for the Teamster management and always have been. They do okay butting heads for truck drivers but have never done well in highly skilled labor talks, that's why UPS and NetJets both dumped them.

Weren’t you just talking about applying to atlas? Why would you come to atlas if you can just go to UPS or fedex? They’re hiring, after all.

And therein lies the problem. No heavy time so I likely can't. Atlas pays less so they accept those with fewer ratings. Doesn't mean I'm a bad pilot, just means I don't have the "X" in the box. If I came to Atlas and they wanted to keep me, they'd have to increase their pay scale or I'd vote with my boots when I was able. I'm not going to blame them for a pay scale I knew was already there, and they shouldn't blame me if I opted to move on for something they were unwilling to give me. No one goes to UPS or FedEx thinking about their next job. I'm sure Atlas knows that also. If they want that type of commitment they know what is required of them.

Additionally, Cliff said "workers will get their fair share of their organization's profits". Who decides what's fair? I'm sure a deal that favors him would appear fair to him, while a deal that favors management will appear fair to them. I'm just a realist. The military did that to me.

And what Cliff left out about the 1950s was that a family of six typically lived in a small three bedroom house with one TV and one car. Their idea of a vacation was to drive into the next state. I think we could all live like that on our current salary, but I'd like more.
