“I’d like a job at Southern please” would have sufficed.

Quote: Alright team, got the old preferential hire list email- albeit not an offer- but a successful interview.. Studied my bollocks off for it too, so happy I have a positive result from the hard work. What are the wait times on these things generally? Has COVID- 19 slowed classes down? I'd say it may have with Cali going into lock down and other states soon to follow suite.

Thanks in advance ya'll!!

I don’t think you seem to know what you just signed up for. Thinking about your worst days flying the RJ is going to make your eyes water.

We’re about to go back to the days of the PAQ, written test, technical interviews, etc.

5 legs around the East Coast in a clapped out 145 for 1/3 the money? Sounds way better!

You realize now a lot of RJ pilots are flying halfway across the country doing 2 or 3 legs in brand new RJs that sometimes even have a first class right? And if they’re making 1/3rd less what you’re making 240k there at southern? What about the very rare 3am show to repo and RJ instead of a regular 3am show?

I don’t work at Atlas or Southern, but stop trying to glorify regional flying. It’s garbage.

Wow! Only 2-3 legs, and there are a few passengers in first class? Man what was I thinking. I bet they even have flight attendants, those lucky dogs. I have heard the Holiday Inn in Dubuque Iowa is beautiful this time of year, a real vacation destination.

I’ve done both types of flying, although I was a lowly turboprop regional pilot, and I will tell you not only did I triple what made at my regional, but long haul flying is by far the EASIEST job I’ve ever had. long haul doesn’t agree with everyone, it appears it doesn’t agree with you. Best of luck in your job hunt somewhere else.
