Atlas 767 v/s Western Global MD11

If you have an offer at both it is simple. Atlas.
I support all of the internet bashing that goes on here. It keeps pilots away who are not willing to do their due diligence and investigate for themselves.
However, the reality is that it is not quite as bad as told on here. I have friends over there who have clean records and are good pilots who have not left. They have not left simply because it has not gotten bad enough to justify the pay cut to start over.
Does Atlas have problems? Yes. Are the pilots aware of what most of the problems are? Yes. Does WG have problems? Yes. Do the pilots know? Unknown because there is no contract and the goal post is constantly being moved.
If there is a downturn in the industry, (some economic people are pointing to a world recession on a small scale by the end of this year), I would much rather be at Atlas.

Career goals play into it. (Hypothetically) Down the line you will make wayyy more at Atlas than you will at WGN in the long term. But until you can get on the 747, you will make more at WGN. Atlas has better benefits though. Is the Southern 777 an option? It pays more than the 767 and you won't have to fly in economy class from the lower 48 to ANC on your days off.
No idea on the upgrade at Atlas, but practically speaking for a newbie at WGN plan on a 2 year upgrade, likely more. Could it be less? Sure, but it's slowed down a little, we aren't a tiny little airline anymore.

If you get hired at Atlas, I would hold out for the 747, which you probably can do, as Atlas is not filling the 747 classes.
At Atlas the usual priority is:
Atlas 747
Southern 777
Atlas 767.
If you lived in, or wanted to move to CVG to be home a lot, then Atlas 767 may be a better choice than Southern 777.
A lot of Western Global pilots have come to Atlas...
