I echo what Recce said a couple of posts back: Let the internal politics slide off and enjoy the ride. Pilots are pilots and there will always be complaining. Things are really pretty good. They could be a lot better and we will get there. In the meantime, welcome aboard and enjoy the adventure! We're glad to see you here and will do our best to make sure you have fun. There's always the 5% but in my experience this is simply a great group of aviators with which to travel the world.

If you drive to initial training, you will get paid mileage (57.5 cpm) to go home at the end, up to the cost of the plane ticket.
