Is there anything I'll be wishing I had next week that I should consider bringing along? Any idea if the new hotel's wifi/TV will allow a Kindle FireTV stick to work? Has anyone found a decent laundry nearby since there's not one in the hotel?

I know I'll do just fine no matter the conditions. I'm trying to avoid buying something in MIA that I could have brought from home, like an air compressor or a chainsaw :).

Thanks to all who've been so helpful over the 2+ years I've been applying and asking dumb questions. I'm looking forward to that 7am shuttle Monday!

Can't go wrong with a HDMI cable that will connect to your device of choice and either a universal remote app (if your phone has an IR blaster) or some other nefarious means of source switching.

And, FWIW, I'd drive to the TC instead of the van.

FYI:

A new system wide base bid was published on 2/15:

- 36 new hire positions open for the 744 in ANC (and another 36 kicks in the nuts for the senior 76 FO's waiting for a 747 slot)
- 18 new hires for the 767 in CVG

And a new system wide seniority list was published on 1/30:

- A total of 1031 crew members on the seniority list

Interestingly, the last seniority list published on 12/31 had a total of 1023 pilots for a net gain of 8.
There were 22 pilots hired in that time and there were 2 pilots who retired.

Consequently, there were 12 pilots who left for greener pastures just in the month of January.

Take that information for what it's worth ...

Management keeps pumping that Atlas is rapidly growing but we're not. They're just doing a lot of hiring and training to keep up with attrition.

To be fair, we just added 4 more 767s in CVG.

We have been staffing for them for months, the total number of pilots on the list is not increasing though. We have had around 1025+/- for a while.

We've been staffing the 747 since early last year (to no avail, as you point out).

They hired all of 20 767 FOs last year, and we lost 12 FOs in January to a 747 transition class (and that doesn't include attrition). We now have a couple of 767 new hires classes in MIA. The first of those might hit the line for OE late next month, and a recent P2P call said 767 OE was running six weeks behind. This is a train wreck the company has long seen coming, yet has done almost nothing to prevent, except maybe that illegal vacancy award in December.

We are going to get along great. Wake-board is "packed". Now i need a phone call.

Bring a speaker for music in your room. Swimsuits for Miami Beach. A wakeboard for the Ronix wake park in Ft Lauderdale. Set up an Uber account for taxis when you don't want to drive to a bar. Get some wall stick for putting posters of the cockpit on the walls. Plenty of highlighters and pencils. There is an Office max nearby. Bottle or 2 of Jack Daniels to get started. Rosetta Stone Spanish. A sense of humor. A tie for the oral and type ride.

After rooting around quite a bit on this thread I can't seem to find any current info on what is asked during the phone interview. Clearly timing of the call can vary widely, but very little has recently been discussed regarding its content.

Anyone here been through the process lately?

Hello all...long time lurker (especially after going through a thousand forum pages). First of all, thanks to all the constant posters for the wealth of information about Atlas and the hiring process. I completed the test mid-December (all the previous gouge was spot on, by the way) and phone interview was done about two weeks later at the end of December. The phone interview was very straightforward and I got the impression that Atlas wanted to make sure you did your homework. Do you know about our schedules? Do you know about our gateway basing? Do you know about the type of flying we do? Outside of that, it was basic HR questions...why Atlas? Tell me about a time you had a problem with a captain? Very straightforward.

This is not a unique situation to Atlas, it is at every carrier in the US, minus FEDEX and UPS as they have been doing very little hiring.

Anyone from January interview received the call or email with class date ?
