Hey guys, I saw somewhere in this thread (I was too lazy to go thru all 132 pages!) where there was some questions about "screen height" for a given RWY. This link will provide some insight. If this has already been posted ignore. I had never heard of it either. :) Improved Standards for Determining Rejected Takeoff and Landing Performance P.S. Of course, if you look at my avatar closely, you can see how the B707 guys did it: Proceed to the overrun as fast as you can and raise the gear!!!

They will ask you at the interview....explain balanced TO, and draw it for me.... Also, yes 35 feet screenheight, but it goes down to what after an engine failure?? What effect does a wet runway have on your V1, or better...what can YOU do with V1, and to what max? Study the new Offsett procedures in the Atlantic. What to do in emergency. How far tracks apart? Good luck!

Unfortunately, I haven't even had the Phone Interview, I was sharing something I had recently discovered. Many of my friends currently or past having flown the 747 and other WB quipment had not heard the term "screen height" either. :)

I appreciate all the GK updates and advice I want to be prepared when I do get the call. Do any Atlas guys know if LAX is going to come back as a base when the Atlas and Polar groups merge under the new contract?

Just a headsup.... this is just a *rumor* but I have heard that hiring will continue through all of 2011. Figure a max of one class every three weeks. Rumors mention that interviews could be offered around the third week of every month. Again, this is all *rumor,* but I believe there is some basis and truth to it....

Been there, got the shirt... AND pool letter! :) If you don't mind sharing with us all what HR tells you the next class date and such. Much appreciation.

GOOD LUCK!
